Google Search Console Integration Checker

An interactive checklist that walks you through verifying your Google Search Console property is connected and healthy. It guides you step by step — it does not connect to your Google account, and it never asks for your login.

The 7-Step GSC Integration Checklist

Work through each step inside your own Search Console, then tick it off here. This page never asks for your Google login and your progress is saved only in this browser — nothing is sent anywhere.

  1. How to verify: Go to search.google.com/search-console and sign in with the Google account that manages your website. Open the property selector in the top-left corner — your site should appear there as a Domain property (example.com) or a URL-prefix property (https://www.example.com). If it is missing, click the selector, choose “Add property,” and follow Google's prompts.

If it fails: Add the property first — every other check on this list depends on it.

  2. How to verify: Inside Search Console, open Settings (gear icon, bottom-left) → Users and permissions. Your Google account must be listed with the Owner role. Google verifies ownership through a DNS TXT record, an HTML file uploaded to your site, an HTML tag on your homepage, or via Google Analytics or Tag Manager.

If it fails: Re-run verification from Settings → Users and permissions. Until you are verified, Search Console shows almost no data for the property.

  3. How to verify: Open Sitemaps in the left-hand menu. Your sitemap URL (usually yoursite.com/sitemap.xml or sitemap_index.xml) should be listed with a “Success” status and a recent “Last read” date. If it is not there, paste the sitemap path into the “Add a new sitemap” field and submit it.

If it fails: Fix your sitemap first (it must return a 200 status and valid XML), then submit it again.

  4. How to verify: Open Pages under Indexing in the left-hand menu. The “Indexed” count should roughly match the number of pages your site actually has. Scan the “Why pages aren't indexed” list for sudden spikes in reasons like “Crawled - currently not indexed” or “Discovered - currently not indexed.”

If it fails: Click any suspicious reason to see the affected URLs, fix the underlying issue (blocking rules, thin content, canonicals), then request indexing for the fixed pages.

  5. How to verify: Open the Performance report. You should see clicks and impressions for recent dates when you set the date range to the last 28 days. Remember that Search Console data appears 2–3 days after you set up the property — a brand-new property may legitimately show empty charts.

If it fails: If the property is older than a week and still shows no data, double-check that the verified property matches the exact version of your site that gets traffic (www vs non-www, https vs http).

  6. How to verify: Open Manual actions under Security & Manual Actions in the left-hand menu — it should say “No issues detected.” Do the same for Security issues on the same screen. These two sections are the only places Google tells you about penalties and hacks.

If it fails: Treat this as your top priority. Read Google's description of the issue, fix the root cause on your site, then submit a reconsideration request (for manual actions) or request a review (for security issues).

  7. How to verify: In Google Analytics 4, go to Admin → Product links → Search Console links. If a link exists between your GA4 property and this Search Console property, your organic search queries start appearing inside GA4 reports.

If it fails: This step is optional — skip it if you do not use Google Analytics. To link them, click “Link” in the Search Console links screen and pick the matching web data stream.

How it works

How to use this checker

  1. Open Search Console in another tab

Head to search.google.com/search-console and sign in with the Google account that manages your website. Keep it open side by side with this page so you can verify each step as you go.

  2. Work through the 7 checks below

Each card tells you exactly where to click inside Search Console — which menu, which screen, and what a healthy result looks like. Start at step 1 and move down the list in order.

  3. Tick off each step as you confirm it

When a check looks right in your Search Console, tick its checkbox here. Your progress is saved automatically in this browser, so you can leave and pick up where you left off later.

  4. Fix what fails, then finish

If a step does not check out, the card tells you what to fix inside Search Console. When all 7 are green, copy your summary as a record of a healthy, fully integrated setup.

You do not have to sort every error on your own. Need help with your SEO? Send us a note about what the checker flagged and we will take it from there.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about what this checker can and cannot do.

No — and that is by design. There is no browser API that lets a website read your Search Console data, so no honest tool can check your setup for you automatically. This page never asks for your Google login. You verify each step inside your own Search Console and tick it off here.
